Account information

Your full name, mobile number, email address and password. Passwords are stored only in hashed (encrypted) form and are never readable by us.

Profile information

Information you enter during the guided registration steps, including:

• Who the profile is being created for (self, son, daughter, brother, sister, relative or friend)
• Gender, date of birth, birth time, birth place and marital status
• Height, weight, complexion, and disability status
• Education, occupation, job title, work location and income range
• Father's and mother's name and occupation, number of siblings and family type
• Religion, caste, subcaste and shakha
• Manglik status and kundali details
• Food preference, hobbies, city, state and country
• Two emergency contact persons' names, relations and phone numbers

Photographs

Profile photographs that you choose to upload.

Verification documents

Aadhaar or PAN, and — where applicable — a salary slip and optionally a kundali document, which you upload so that our team can verify your identity and the authenticity of your profile.

Communications

Messages you exchange with other members, interests you send, receive, accept or decline, profiles you shortlist, and members you block.

Technical data

Device type, browser/app version, IP address and basic usage logs, used for security, fraud prevention and debugging.

• To create your profile and display it to other verified members
• To verify your identity and keep fake or fraudulent profiles off the platform
• To suggest matches based on your details and stated preferences (including AstroMatch compatibility)
• To deliver interests, shortlists, notifications and chat messages
• To provide customer support and respond to your queries
• To detect and prevent misuse, abuse, impersonation and illegal activity
• To comply with applicable laws and lawful requests

Other verified members can see the profile details, photographs and partner preferences you've entered.

Every profile is manually reviewed by our administrators before it becomes visible to other members. Administrators may view your submitted documents strictly for verification purposes. We may reject or suspend any profile that is fake, misleading, offensive, duplicated, or that appears to belong to a person below the legal age of marriage.

We send a one-time password to your registered email address to confirm that it belongs to you. Your email address is not shared with other members and is not used for marketing communication without your consent.

We share your information only in the following situations:

• With service providers who host our servers, storage and email delivery, who are bound to protect your data and may use it only to provide those services to us
• With law enforcement, courts or regulatory authorities where we are legally required to do so
• With a successor entity if the service is merged, acquired or reorganised, under the same protections described in this policy

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion any time from Settings → Delete Account. The moment you submit that request, your profile is hidden from all matches and searches — it does not wait for review. Our team then permanently deletes your data and emails you a confirmation once complete. A limited set of records may be retained where required by law or to resolve disputes and prevent fraud. Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on our normal backup cycle, within 90 days.

• Access and edit your profile information at any time from My Profile
• Block any member, which immediately hides your profile from them
• Raise a concern about another member's behaviour by contacting Support
• Permanently delete your account from Settings → Delete Account
• Request a copy of your data, or a correction to it, by writing to us at the address below

Passwords are stored hashed and never in plain text. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections, and uploaded documents are held in restricted, access-controlled storage available only to authorised verification staff. No system can be perfectly secure, so please choose a strong password, never share your login details, and inform us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

Vivahkalp is intended only for adults of legal marriageable age (registration is restricted to ages 18–50). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Any profile found to belong to a minor is deleted along with its data. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us and we will act promptly.

We may update this policy from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify you inside the app or by email, and the "Last updated" date at the top of this document will be revised. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.

We aim to acknowledge every privacy request within 48 hours and to resolve it within 30 days.
